Rearranging My Life

I'll just go ahead a say it... I hate the layout of my room! I have lived in this apartment for a year and a half now and about every six months I get so sick of the flow of my room that I just rearrange all the furniture in it. Let me put this another way, I have eight doors in my room! There is seriously only one blank wall to put anything on so logically that would be where I put my bed.

Since the weather is slowly getting more pleasant and it stays light out later, I decided to take advantage of the natural light by moving my desk in front of the french doors in my room. Why the decided to put french doors in this bedroom that has two closets on one wall and a bathroom and entrance door on the other wall is a mystery to me. How you are supposed to ever use those doors makes no sense, but I digress. The main point is that I hate this room and therefore in order to amuse myself I switch it up every so often. If anyone has any better arrangement ideas for this room, do share! I would love to know how to make this room more liveable since I still have another six months in it!

Update

Lance called me around one o'clock to let me know they had taken his Mom into surgery at Tift Regional. I talked to him again later this afternoon and he told me she came out of surgery fine, just a little tired.
Before Lance left, he decided that I should keep Finn up here with me. He thought it would be easier if he didn't have to look after a semi-hyper puppy all week while his Mom was trying to recover. It has been very cold and windy all day and I think Finn is getting Cabin Fever. He got his first big boy spanking from me today! I do not take kindly to a puppy jumping up and trying to bite me in the face, but I do feel slightly bad for him since we haven't really been able to get any good exercise today! Other than this one incident, he's been a very good and tired puppy!

The Weekend Ends Early

Lance and Finn came up for the weekend and we've had a wonderful time. On Saturday morning we woke up and went to the intramural fields at UGA. They have a great dog park in the back and Finn got to play with lots of other big dogs.

After we finished playing we decided to go downtown and eat lunch outside. We always see people eating outside with their dogs on the weekend and of course we wanted to try it too! Finn was so tired from our walk that he just calmy sat under the table while we at our subs from Which Wich.

I had to attent a play, Sleuth, for extra credit on Saturday night and we knew the puppy would have to stay by himself for at least three hours. We took him over to Anna Chestnutwood's apartment to play with Bentley, a chocolate lab that belongs to Anna's roommate, Lauren. They are both twelve weeks old but Bentley was sweeping the floor with Finn, literally!

We ended up getting some bad news after we got home from the play. Lance's Aunt Shelby called to say that earlier that day Lance's Mom was on the way home from Albany when she started feeling faint and sick. They took her to the emergency room on Saturday night to discover that she had an infection in her gallbladder that was spreading to her stomach. They gave her antibiotics last night to try and fight the infection, but she will have to have surgery either today or tomorrow to remove her gallbladder.

He FINALLY Has A Name!

This past week and weekend have been hectic to say the least! I never realized just how much time and attention a puppy needs! Even though he is absolutely the best puppy I have ever seen, he is still in the needy phase and I am truly exhausted!
My friend Meg has a pug named Millie and they asked if they could ride to Tifton with us on Friday. I was so relieved because the puppies love to play together, so Meg and I put them in the backseat and they wrestled for about 45 minutes of the trip and slept the rest of the drive! It was so exciting to get home and give the puppy to Lance. He set up a bed for the puppy inside and a little fenced in area in the backyard.

We contemplated ALL weekend about what the puppy should be named. Some of the names included: Finn, Gabe, Beau, and Sam. On Sunday before I left we literally flipped a coin and it ended up deciding for us that his name should be Finn! Hopefully the first week Lance spends with Finn won't be stressful!

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY LANCE!

Say hello to the newest member of our family. I picked up this adorable HUGE puppy today for Lance's birthday/Valentine's Day present! We have been thinking about getting a dog for a long time and this one was just too darn sweet and cute to pass up! We are still getting adjusted, but I'm sure he will produce many interesting stories in the future!

Is It Spring Already?

I have now lived in Athens for over two years, but I also go home just about every other weekend to spend time with my wonderful boyfriend, Lance. The drive takes about three hours one way and each time Lance and I make that trip we wish we were together so we could stop and admire all the beautiful small towns along the way. One of the quaint little towns is Madison, Georiga. It just has this cute, antique, small town feel. For the first time in two years, I surprised Lance this weekend and asked him if he wanted to go spend the day walking around Madison with me. We left Athens about 10:30 to make the thirty minute trip.
We ate at O'Hara's, a restaurant downtown.

I got the fried green tomato BLT sandwich with homemade chips. Yum-O!

Then, we stopped at an ice cream shop. Coffee flavor, of course!

It was an adorable little shop! Begin able to spend the entire day together was wonderful! Hopefully in the future, we can go again and take some friends next time!

Blogging for the first time

For months I have been secretly reading other peoples blogs and trying to find the courage to start my own. I obsessively check the status of other people's lives through their blogs and am fascinated at all the exciting things they write about. It is the lack of fascinating events in my life that has until this point prevented me from starting my own blog. Honestly, I feel there is very little going on in my life that would be considered exciting or even worthy of other people reading about, but why should that stop me?
I am taking a class right now about counseling which required me to write a list of 50 Things I Want to Do Before I Die. Starting a blog suprising came to my mind and as I added it to the list, I wondered what was stopping me. So...here I go.
